Tom Eussen
Thirty years of executive experience in steel, aluminium and downstream metals at Tata Steel, formerly Corus and Koninklijke Hoogovens. Most recently Managing Director IJmuiden and member of the Board of Management of Tata Steel Nederland, with end-to-end responsibility for production, commercial and distribution, 9,500 employees and €5 billion in revenue. Before that Managing Director Downstream Europe: five business units, 27 locations, €2.4 billion in revenue and a record profit of €100 million. Turnarounds in France, the UK and Türkiye. Governance experience includes chairing Metaal Nederland and board roles in Turkey, France, Belgium, Germany and Sweden. MSc Industrial Engineering (University of Twente), Executive MBA (IMD) and the Nyenrode corporate governance programme for NED.
I work as one experienced executive, not as an agency with a team of juniors behind me. Within two weeks you have a well-founded picture. After that I help make the necessary decisions and get the execution moving, and I can stay involved until the change carries itself. I have no politics to defend and no follow-up work to sell, so my advice stays objective, also when it is uncomfortable. Engagements range from a one-week scan to full interim responsibility.
